And then...

Well today was one of those days where I asked my self, and then what? I have been employed since I was 14 and today I said goodbye to my beloved job, turned in my badge, cleaned out my lockers, and walked away from 8 amazing years with amazing people. The reasoning was actually quite simple but that doesn't make it any easier to do. It may not be forever, and it's not like I won't ever get toΒ see them,Β but it feels like that right now. And then what.. People ask me, why are you sad? Well, I am sad because I worked hardΒ to get aΒ degree, to get that job, IΒ enjoy what I do, and I have known nothing different than to work. I alsoΒ have a strong independent side, I love theΒ feedback fromΒ people other than my loved ones at home, and its an adult "break". Don't get all huffyΒ about me sayingΒ going to work would be a "break." Trust me, my work is NOTΒ easy and when I sayΒ break I am talking about the kind you get when you are around friends, your support system. My co-workers and I didn't even knowΒ what the wordΒ "break" meantΒ sometimes. Right ladies?Β Staying at home isn't easy either, they are just different types of work. Mother's breaks are usuallyΒ in between naps andΒ during that timeΒ youΒ hurry up and get things doneΒ around the house beforeΒ they wake up again!Β So no one really ever gets a "break." Whatever work you decide to do, whether it is staying home or going back to your job, it is a very important job.

The work I do at home as a wife and mother is something I enjoy and don'tΒ see it as work most days, even though itΒ is. I love making dinner, rockingΒ the baby to sleep, doing laundry, and running errands. Seriously, whatΒ could be better than taking care of the ones you love? Trust me when I say that I am so beyond excited and blessed to spend each day with my growingΒ daughter and IΒ look forward toΒ each morning with her sweet smile and theΒ "talks" we have. I would cry if I missed any part of her growing up and can't imagine not being there with her.Β But again,Β I am allowed to say that I am sad that I am leaving my outsideΒ job for another more important job in my life. Staying at home isn't for everyone and really dislike that there is so much judgment in the world about these 2 topics of working and staying at home.Β To each as own.

So as I drive away from the my second home, I look back in my review mirror and see a beautiful sleeping baby, shed a few tears, and I couldn't be any happier than I amΒ right now. I am looking forward to many playdates, memories, and funΒ with my loves. You don't get to ever take time back, so right now we will live each day to it's fullest. As we drive home, I willΒ put herΒ downΒ inΒ her baby bed to sleep, and then ask myself, and then what? Well, throw inΒ another load of laundry of course :)

Put on Your Face

This post is a tribute to my Mother. Ever since I can remember, my Mom never EVER left the house without her face on! So it comes naturally when a normal part of my morning routine is makeup. Whether it is adding just a tinted moisturizer or putting on a full face, I do it. If you happen to catch me out without a stitch of anything, please call a doctor as something is wrong! I decided to post a few of my favorites below and this is a typical morning. No plans for the day, just hanging out with my baby. Confession: I do not wash my face unless I wash my hair in the shower and I use a Q-tip and clean my ears! So the below routine is starting fresh after a shower.

Now with a baby, my order has changed. She goes down for her morning nap and I get started! Right now I can still feed/hold with one hand, so hair is first because that takes 2 hands. Blow dry, curl, done. Next is moisturizer. I recently switched to Origins GinZing face cream (Origins will give you samples to try before you buy.) After moisturizing, I use 2 products under my eyes, because after being up at night I need a little Β boost! NARS radiant creamy concealer and Origins refreshing eye cream. Apply both with fingers. I am a sucker for Clinique superbalanced makeup because my skin is so sensitive, I have tried to stray and can't! Follow with bronzer by Laura Geller and blush by NARS in Orgasm. Seriously, it works on almost any face color.

My eyelashes are growing long and thick thanks to my favorite product, Latisse. I buy the 3ml bottle and have a secret tip to make it last twice as long. I am a firm believer in curling lashes, but man if you catch the inner corner of your eye...wowzer you won't ever do that again. Line lashes with MAC graphblack liner and apply mascara. Β I use 2 different types of mascara. Both from Benefit, BAD gal lash and They're Real. Use BAD gal first then the other. Last two things are a quick swipe of eyeshadow from BareMinerals-Nude beach and Dior lip glow gloss. Perfection!

P.S. It took me longer to write this than it did to put all of this on. Once you make something routine, it just comes natural. Thanks Mom!ImageImage
